The European Charter for the Responsible Development of Neurotechnologies was published on April 28, 2025, and is now available on the dedicated webpage.
The European Charter for the Responsible Development of Neurotechnologies aims to promote stewardship, trust, and sustainable growth in the field while guiding policy, business, and investment decisions. It builds on existing governance frameworks, addressing human-centered risks and highlighting areas for further attention. As neurotechnologies rapidly evolve, the Charter is designed to be dynamic and regularly updated.
Developed through collaboration between public and private sectors, the Charter incorporates feedback from a public consultation, engaging diverse stakeholders across Europe, including people with neurological conditions, health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and small businesses.
