On September 5, 2024, Dr Ulrike Bußhoff, Coordinator of the CSA BrainHealth, joined the first webinar of the EU Health Policy Platform “Towards an EU Coordination Plan for the Brain”. Led by the European Brain Council, a partner of the CSA BrainHealth, this thematic network to unite stakeholders from across the brain community to develop policy recommendations for a comprehensive European Brain Health, Research, and Innovation Plan through a Joint Statement, with the goal to enhance the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care of brain disorders, ultimately fostering a healthier and more innovative Europe – while socializing the concepts of brain health, brain capital, brain wealth and brain economy.
The discussion revolved around leveraging existing opportunities to work towards the development of a comprehensive EU Coordination Plan for the Brain. Dr Bußhoff highlighted recent developments of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and recalled the role of the European Partnership for BrainHealth in bridging the gap between research and practice.
