The EP BrainHealth wants to highlight a recent publication of our predecessor initiative, the ERA-Net NEURON, in PLOS Biology (Lichtenberg & Müller et al., 2025) on strengthening patient involvement, ethical rigor, and methodological quality in biomedical research.
Co-developed with patient representatives and the Berlin Brain Institute of Health/QUEST Center for Responsible Research, the publication offers a scalable best practice blueprint for other research funding formats worldwide. The EP BrainHealth is building on this foundation to drive participatory science and more responsible, impactful research forward.
